Stephenie Meyer took two chapters of a semi-okay Anne Rice novel, extended it over 500 pages and infused it with a blah adolescent point of view. She introduced old concepts as though they were novel, shocking no one with a tired story that wants to be a PG version of "The Lost Boys". And trust me, I do get the metaphor of the repressed adolescent sexual awakening. But jeez, this one would have been read by me in middle school one boring autumn afternoon... before the new Fear Street or Goosebumps book arrived, that is.
I have moved on to reading the second one to see if i can see "the light" many already have (and because I quit trying to get through "The Sound in the Fury"). I doubt it. But at least I'll feel totally cool for reading a 500+ pg novel (novella, more like it) in record time! "Twilight" is the anti-epic... it's small, corny, sometimes utterly insipid, and amounts to very little.
this book is good but also kinda boring at the same time..... The writing skills are superior but the story itself is kinda dry.... but still its pretty good, at least you will still want to read on. The only reason im reading this is because im bored lately nad hvae nothing to read

I wanted to say that this series ruined the Vampire Genre but that isn't really the case. The fangirl base for this series did. Anyways... Despite my bias against these books, which I've been harboring for many years, I finally gave it a read. It's a well written book. There is considerable skill and vision that was behind these words. I'm still upset what came of the Vamipre Genre due to the fan base but Sparkly Ass Vampires (It's a thing, look it up) are a caricature of what these stories have to offer. If you're into YA then this will be a guilty pleasure. Go ahead and give them a read, it's an addictive story and while you'll feel a little shame for loving them so much you got remember... Digital copies and audio books don't shown up on your book shelf. Go ahead and enjoy, I won't judge.

yeah right... read the rest of the books and then you can say that you won't read another book ever again.
Bella Swan is an ordinary girl, cute and sociable. As she had to move to Forks- small, always rainy town in Washington, Bella thought she would die of boredom… thought that till she met Edward Cullen. She liked him from the first sight – there was something mysterious about this handsome guy. And she was right feeling that – Bella met a real vampire, and now her life changed once and forever, there would be no place in it for boredom and trivial things anymore. Edward could keep his secret in his small city, but with Bella’s coming everything changed, danger hanged above everyoneó and especially Bella, the girl Edward fell in love with.
